Ed Williams Gone Home
Ed Williams passed away at 10 pm December 21, 2014. Below you can read a small clip about his scouting career from Rodger Skirvin. Ed was instrumental in the fund raising and building of the Parrish COPE Course and the Climbing Tower at Camp Durant. He was the director of the program for many years and was a true force in shaping the programs of Camp Durant High Adventure.

Ed You will be Missed.

It is with great sadness that I relay the news of the passing of a friend and long time dedicated Scouter, Ed Williams, at age 71.  Many long time Crosswinds District Scouters will remember Ed, as he was one of the Eagle board chairs, back in the former Dan Beard District.  Dan Beard District split in 2004, when we formed Crosswinds District, and Ed went into Hemlock District, now known as Black River District.  Ed was a distinguished US Marine and a distinguished Scouter.  Always insisting on honor and loyalty, in every aspect of his life and in his interactions with Scouts and Scouters.  Ed was a true mentor to me in the areas of Scouting advancement.  Ed spent a lot of time a Camp Durant, teaching and improving the climbing tower area.

Ed was recognized for his loyalty and service to Scouting:
Dan Beard District Leadership Citation - 1986
Dan Beard District Award of Merit - 1990
  Silver Beaver - 1995
Order of the Arrow, Brotherhood member, Vigil Honor, 2005
